Advanced Cosmetic Procedures or ACP treatments

It has been brought to my attention many times that some people have misconceptions about beauty salons - from what I can gather they think they are 'pretty' and 'girly' and just about 'make-up' and 'nails'.

I often hear: 'Oh! I couldn't possibly have a manicure - my nails are a mess!'  But surely - that's when you need us? Just a tidy up of the cuticles and removal of dead skin cells from the nail plate can make nails look phenomenally better. So I thought I would consider some of the less well known treatments and benefits of visiting a beauty salon and what to 'suss out' when you get there.

Beauty salons with so much more to offer...

Firstly: why would you visit a beauty salon?  It's not all about beautifying.  Don't get me wrong those types of treatments can be lovely, and it is nice to have nails that look absolutely stunning and a facial that makes your skin look healthy and youthful. But over the years health & beauty salons have changed and have become more paramedical, concentrating much more on overall well-being by introducing more clinic-type treatments alongside the traditional pampering ones.

Over the coming months I am going to cover these specialised treatments and explain how they could benefit you.  On a daily basis I hear: 'Oh! I didn't know you could do that!' so educating everybody is going to be my mission!

Introducing Advanced Cosmetic Procedures or ACP treatments

Advanced Cosmetic Procedures are not commonly associated with beauty salons, however it may surprise you that below is a list of the skin disorders and blemishes that can be successfully treated:

  • Thread veins
  • Xanthoma
  • Blood spots
  • Age spots
  • Moles
  • Spider naevi
  • Verrucae
  • Molluscum contagiosum
  • Milia
  • Skin tags
  • Common & plantar warts
  • Seborrhoeic warts
  • Sebaceous cysts
  • Syringoma
  • Dermatosis papulosa nigra
  • Hairs in moles

ACP treatments are safe and effective and offer instantaneous results in many cases. Length of treatment very much depends on the problem and your skin specialist will advise you of this although it is difficult to state a definitive time.

The area worked on must not be over treated and your skin reactivity will be taken into account. Spacing technique and treatment intervals will be carefully considered in a treatment plan as well as taking into account your requirements, needs and wishes.

All the Advanced Cosmetic procedures listed listed above are available at Perfect Harmony Health & Beauty Salon in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and can be of a huge benefit to many people. Our skin specialist will be pleased to offer you a consultation and price estimate, simply contact us to discuss your requirements.

Choose a professional salon, with high standards

Before you commence any treatment, though, do your research.  It is important to make sure you can be confident you are to be treated at a salon with a tradition of high professional standards.  Are you routinely asked to complete a consultation and consent form? Are there appropriate insurance certificates clearly on display? Are strict hygiene procedures - for example, to equipment - applied in preparation for and during your treatment.  If the answer to any of these questions is not an emphatic ‘Yes!’ then please beware – your health and well-being could be at risk!
