Electrolysis for permanent hair removal

Electrolysis is the only proven method of permanent hair removal.

Electrolysis hair removal can be performed on any part of the body, but it is more commonly used for facial hair.

Causes of unwanted hair growth

Unwanted hair growth is often traced to hereditary factors, and sometimes stress and certain illnesses can stimulate growth. Some temporary methods of hair removal, certain drugs, medications and the natural hormonal changes at different stages in life (e.g. puberty, pregnancy and the menopause) can all affect hair growth.

What's involved with electrolysis hair removal

The electroysis hair removal treatment is not generally painful although there may be some slight discomfort and occasionally a feeling of heat in the area during treatment. There may be a slight redness after treatment that will only last a few hours.

It is hard to assess how long treatment will be needed because the hairs that are removed during treatment will never re-grow, but while there are still active hair follicles re-growth will take place. The process is a gradual one and with each treatment the hair growth becomes less and less.

The treatment is a completely safe and has been approved by the medical profession, and has been available over 100 years. We always use Sterex Sterile Disposable Needles recommended by the Public Health Laboratory Service. We use a sterile needle for each treatment session.
